This section contains a troubleshooting table to help you diagnose and resolve hardware issues that could occur during the IMG 1004 installation and operation. This section addresses only the most common issues. If you are unable to solve a problem, record all the information pertaining to your system configuration including:

Problem or Symptom

The IMG 1004 does not power up.

Verify the switch located on the Power Module at the rear of the chassis is not in the O (OFF) position.

Toggle the switch to 1 (On) position.

Verify the 120/240 V AC power cable is plugged into the Power Module on the rear of the IMG and also into the power source outlet.

Remove and reseat both ends

The AC power cable is faulty.

Replace cable as necessary. Refer to IMG 1004 - Connecting AC Power

Is there power at the Power source outlet?

Check the power source (outlet) for power or proper output. Check for tripped circuit breaker. Reset circuit breaker or repair as necessary.

The IMG 1004 powers up, but then immediately shuts down.

An external circuit breaker has tripped.

The fuse in the AC power module has blown.

Reset circuit breaker.

Replace fuse. Refer to IMG 1004 - Replacing a Fuse

 

Front Panel LED Indicators

Problem or Symptom

Cause or Description

Corrective Action

The IMG 1004 powers up, but the ALARM LED lights red (major) or orange (minor).

An alarm condition exists.

Refer to IMG 1004 - Front Panel Status LEDs. If ALARM LED is still red, contact Sangoma Technical Support.

The Timing LED lights red (timing error) or orange (reference clock present but not timing system).

Verify the reference timing has been wired and it is connected to an external reference clock.

Configure reference timing. See IMG 1004 - RJ48 Connector Pinouts

The TIMING LED lights orange (hold over).

Lost lock on external timing source, but still synchronized to it.

Re-configure external timing.

The ENET SIG LED lights red (no link established, error).

The Ethernet link has not been established or has been lost.

Establish or re-establish link.

The SIGNAL SPAN LEDs, for licensed E1/T1 spans, light red (major alarm) or orange (minor alarm).

The span  has not been established or has been lost.

Establish or re-establish span.
