Configure NFS on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

The IMG 2020 runs an NFS client that is configured to retrieve files such as treatments and announcements from a configured NFS server. The procedure explains how to configure the server running Red Hat Enterprise Linux to share .vox/.wav files. There are other shares that can be created such as Call Tracing. They would all be configured similarly.

Note: When installing BDN EMS software, the NFS shares will automatically get configured on that server. The procedure below describes how to set up NFS on a server that NFS is not configured on.

Procedure for Red Hat Enterprise Linux

• On the BDN EMS server open NFS as shown in screen capture below.

• Before the NFS client opens a screen will ask for the root user password. If server was purchased from Dialogic -or- Red Hat installations instructions from this manual were followed, then the root password is the following:root password = excel2

Otherwise you will need to acquire the root password to the server.

• To add a new share, select the "+" Add button. Browse to directory that contains the .vox files. In the case of GCEMS server the path is /opt/dialogic/common/treatment/datafiles. See screen capture below.

• Set Basic permissions to either Read-Only or Read/Write. Read/Write is not necessary but can be set for future use.

• The Host(s) field is the IP address of the IMG 2020. Below are a few different ways of selecting multiple IMG 2020's

  • Multiple IMG 2020 IP addresses can be added by putting a space between each IP address#* Enter a wild card * character instead of the actual IP address. This will allow any IP address.# Click on the General Options tab. Accept the default value Sync write operations on request.

• Click on the User Access tab and add a check to theTreat all client users as anonymous usersbox.

• Add the User ID to the field labeled Local user ID for anonymous users:

• Add the Group ID to the field labeled Local group ID for anonymous users:
  The value of the User ID and Group ID is located in the Users Tab and Groups Tab in the User Manager in Linux Red Hat. See screen capture below.

The User ID is displayed in the User ID Tab under the dialogic user. Enter that number.

The Group ID is displayed in the Group ID Tab under the dialogic user. Enter that number.

• Duplicate the procedure above to create shares for call tracing and routing/sending. Below is screen capture with NFS configured.
