IMG 1010 - Rack Mounting

The IMG 1010 is shipped with the tray and docking station mated together for easy mounting. When mounting the chassis, follow these guidelines:

  • Do not obstruct air flow to the front or the side vent holes towards the rear of the unit.

  • Allow approximately 76 cm (2.5 ft.) to slide the field-replaceable tray out.

19" Front and Mid mount Bracket Positioning

The IMG 1010 ships with brackets for a 19" inch rack. They are installed in the front mount position as shown below.

Front Mount (factory default)

The brackets can be rotated as shown below. By rotating and repositioning the brackets, the IMG can be used in a mid-mount installation. The two mid-mounting options are displayed in diagrams below.

19" Rear Mount Bracket Kit (SLM-BRK-1000)

For extra support, a rear mount bracket assembly is also available. This bracket assembly is needed to make the system NEBS Level 3 Compliant. If only the front or mid mount brackets are used when installing an IMG in a rack system, the IMG 1010 will not be NEBS Level 3 Compliant. The rear mount brackets are attached to the IMG 1010 by inserting a 6-32" screw located towards the rear of the IMG into the mounting hole of each bracket  (one on either side of IMG 1010). Contact your sales representative to order the bracket.

23" Front and Rear Mount Bracket Kit (SLM-BRK-1001)

The bracket assembly for use with a 23" rack includes front and rear mounting options for added stability. When installing IMG into a 23" rack, the front and rear brackets are required. As explained above, for the IMG 1010 to be NEBS Level 3 compliant in a 23" rack, both the front and rear bracket assemblies must be used. See diagram Below

Installation

  • Remove existing 19" brackets from front mounting position.

  • Replace with 23" brackets, re-using existing screws.

  • Attach Rear Bracket Mounts to chassis as shown in figure.
