Modem installation issues

Symptoms

If any of the following symptoms are observed, follow the steps listed in the workaround below to resolve the issue(s).
 

  • After installing a fax modem using the Dialogic Diva Configuration Wizard, if more fax modems are added using the Configuration Manager, there may be an error message: "Insufficient administrator rights".

  • Fax modems are already installed and appear in the Diva Configuration Manager, but the installed modems are not listed in the Microsoft® Fax Service Manager as devices.

  • Fax modems are listed in in the Microsoft Fax Service Manager, but faxes cannot be sent or received successfully.

Workaround

  1. Delete all the modems in the Diva Configuration Manager. 

  2. Stop the Microsoft Fax service. 

  3. Reinstall the modems in the Diva Configuration Manager.

  4. Reboot the computer.

If Microsoft Fax is being used as the fax application, the Microsoft Fax Service Manager should now display all the modems and faxes can be sent/received successfully.
