Fonality - Dial Plan for Bandwidth.com Customers

Fonality - Dial Plan for Bandwidth.com Customers

The issue here is that Bandwidth requires all outbound calls to be dialed "+1-xxx-nxx-nxxx", following E.164 numbering. This is simple to change on the PBXtra .

What you will need to do is:

  1. Go to "Options->Dial Plan" in the PBXtra's admin panel

  2. Click on '9 + nxxxxxx'

  3. Add 'VoIP: bandwidth' as the 1st route, and for this route only

  4. Use the default 1 for Strip Digits, and set Prepend to '+1' plus your local area code.  For example, a 312 area code would be '+1312'

  5. Set 'Analog Lines' as the 2nd route, and do not change its settings

  6. Click 'Update Dial Plan'

  7. Repeat for '9 + nxxnxxxxxx', using a Prepend of '+1' only

  8. Repeat for '9 + 1nxxnxxxxxx', using a Prepend of '+' only

  9. Repeat for '9 + 011', using a Strip of 4 and a Prepend of "+."  International E.164 dialing is +(Area Code)-(Phone Number)

Please look at the image below, we have highlighted the dial plan that is formatted properly for Bandwidth.com customers.  The other dial plans depicted will NOT work for Bandwidth.com - we provide examples of working and non-working dial plans so that you can compare and make sure you have your dial plan configured properly.
