T3Mux + 4 x A108

 

The T3Mux has been optimized to interwork with four Sangoma A108 PCIe cards.

  1. A server with four A108 cards + T3Mux can achieve full T3 capacity using only 14 RJ45 cables.

  2. A straight RJ45 cat5 or cat6 Ethernet cable can be used to connect T3Mux to A108 RJ45 port.

  3. Each RJ45 (cat5/6) straight cable carries 2 T1 lines.  (4 wires for each port) 

  4. Each T3Mux only takes up 1U of rack space.

  5. Up to 3 x T3Mux boxes can be placed on a single 1U 19'' rack.

  6. A108 cards must be configured in LINEAR hardware RJ45 port map mode. 

  7. Minimum wanpipe driver that support LINEAR operation mode: wanpipe-3.5.24.tgz

 

 

T3Mux RJ45 Connector Specs

  1. T3Mux contains 14 RJ45 Ports, and each carries 2 T1 lines.  
    Total 28T1 lines

  2. First 4 wires of RJ45 connector are used for 1st T1 port and 
    second 4 wires of RJ45 connector are used for 2nd T1 port.

  3. For each RJ45 connector the T1 ports mappings are:
         Port: [01,02] [03,04] [05,06] [07,08] [09,10] [11,12] [13,14] 
                  [15,16] [17,18] [19,20] [21,22] [23,24] [25,26] [27,28]


A108 RJ45 Connector Specs
 

  1. The A108 card contains 4 RJ45 Ports, and each carries 2 T1 lines. Total of 8 T1 lines

  2. First 4 wires of RJ45 connector are used for 1st T1 port and 
    second 4 wires of RJ45 connector are used for 2nd T1 port.

  3. For each RJ45 connector the DEFAULT T1 ports mappings are:
         Port: [01,05] [02,06] [03,07] [04,08]

  4. For each RJ45 connector the LINEAR T1 ports mappings are:
         Port: [01,02] [03,04] [05,06] [07,08]
    This option must be specified in /etc/wanpipe/wanpipe1.conf file.

Important:

When connecting T3Mux to 4 x A108.  

  1. The A108 cards must be configured for LINEAR hardware RJ45 port mapping mode. 
    This way T3Mux port numbering will match the A108 RJ45 port numbering.

  2. Minimum wanpipe driver that currently supports LINEAR hardware RJ45 port mapping feature is wanpipe-3.5.24.tgz
