Contact Manager Module
While the Contact Manager has no official limit to the number of contacts you can create or the number of Contact Groups the more contacts and groups you have the slower things that render the contacts such as Zulu, UCP and Phone Apps will behave and some clients may not operate well with over 1000 contacts at this time.
The Contact Manager module lets you add contacts to groups. These contacts are then used by the Contacts Rest App and UCP. Contacts can be grouped under Internal or External categories. A default group called "User Manager" contains all users and cannot be deleted.
Go to Admin → Contact Manager to visit the module.
Contact Group Types
Internal Groups- These are contact groups of internal extensions. The Contact information is pulled from the User Management module.
External Groups- These are contact groups of extension contacts such as customers and vendors.
User Manager- Default contact group that includes all users from User Management Module.
Adding a New Group
Click Add New Group from the menu options at the right.
Give the group a Name and select which Type of group to create.
Click the Submit button.
Internal Groups
Under the Internal Groups tab, you should see your already-created Internal groups. Each internal group will have its own tab.
In this example, we have an internal group called "Employees."
From here you can view all users in this group, as well as modify the group name if desired, edit or delete users, and add entries.
Editing an Internal User:
Click the edit button () next to an entry.
The default information for an internal user is pulled from the User Management module. This information is shown in light gray text. You can override the default info by typing into the fields. Anything you enter here will show in dark text and override what is in the User Management module (for the purposes of the Contact Manager module only). The User Management module will retain the original information.
Click the Submit button when finished editing.
External Groups
Under the External Groups tab, you should see your already-created External groups. Each external group will have its own tab.
In this example, we have an external group called "Vendors."
From here you can view all users in this group, as well as modify the group name if desired, edit or delete users, and add entries.
Editing an External User:
Click the edit button ( ) next to an entry.
The information for an external user is not automatically pre-populated, because this information is not pulled from internal sources. You can edit the Display Name, First Name, Last Name, Title, Company, Address, Numbers, XMPP, Email, and Website.
Adding Speed Dial : Fill the external number in the number field which you want to use. Tick the enable speed dial check box to enable the Speed dial option and enter the Speed dial code you want to use to for speed dialing. To use this use the feature code *10 followed by the number you set for speed dialing (example as showing in below snapshot) from your extension for the number to be dialed out. Speed dial entries are also available as GUI destinations for directing calls by choosing 'Contact Manager Speed Dials' from the destination drop down menu.
Click the Submit button when done editing.
User Manager Groups
Under the User Manager tab, you can view and edit your user management group(s). User Manager Groups, or "UserMan Groups," are linked to the User Management module. The default User Manager Group includes all users and can't be deleted.
Editing a User Management User:
Click the edit button () next to an entry.
When you do this, you'll leave the Contact Manager module and be taken to the User Management module. This is because information for users in UserMan groups must be edited at the source, which is the User Management module. You will need to click the User Details tab in the User Management module. For more information, visit the User Management Module wiki.
Click the Submit button in the User Management module when finished editing.
