PBX Platforms - A Note About Security Updates
The SNG7 FreePBX Distro is based on the Centos 7 Operating System. As Centos publishes updates upstream, they are incorporated as System Updates to the FreePBX Distro. It's recommended that FreePBX admins regularly ensure that system updates are current using the System tab in Module Admin, or by running 'yum update' from the command line. Some vulnerability scanners identify potential vulnerabilities in a Linux system only by identifying the version of the running service and comparing it against reports, which may not accurately reflect the actual vulnerability status of the service. Centos routinely backports security fixes to previous versions in the services that it publishes. Additional reading here:
