What is Sangoma CX Click to Dial Chrome Extension

  • This Chrome Extension detects phone numbers on web pages and enables them as links so when clicked they will place a call via Sangoma CX Agent Panel.

The Sangoma CX Click to Dial Chrome extension is a new and improved version of the Star2Star Contact Center Click to Dial Chrome extension. If you currently have the Star2Star Contact Center Click to Dial extension installed, you must remove it and install the new and improved Sangoma CX Click to Dial Chrome Extension.

Prerequisites

  • This extension only works with Sangoma’s CX product.

  • Before using the extension, please make sure that you:

    • Login as an Agent on the Sangoma CX Agent Panel and log into a queue that can make outbound calls.

    • Login  to the Chrome Extension providing the tenant domain, and the same agent credentials used to log into the Sangoma CX Agent Panel.

Considerations

  • This extension can be installed in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.

  • It can only dial USA and Canadian phone numbers.

  • This extension only works with Sangoma CX WebRTC phone extensions.

  • This extension will give an error message and won't work, if the Agent Panel or website with the phone numbers to call are opened in incognito mode.

  • Make sure no other Click to Dial or Click to Call Chrome extensions are enabled on Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser. These extensions may conflict with each other resulting in unexpected behavior.

How to Install the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension 

To install Sangoma CX Click to Dial Google Chrome Extension:

Chrome Browser installation

To install the extension in a Chrome Browser, click on the  Add to Chrome button.

Edge Browser installation

To install the extension in an Edge Browser, Click the Get button.

If prompted, click the Allow button if prompted to allow extensions from other stores.


How to Add the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension to the Browser toolbar

Chrome Browser

  • Click the Extensions icon represented as a puzzle piece. 

  • Click the pin icon next to the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension.

  • The Sangoma CX Click to Dial icon will appear in the toolbar located on the top right side of the browser.

Edge Browser

  • Click the Browser Setting ( ) icon in the top right corner of the browser page.

  • Select Extensions from the drop down menu.

  • Click the Manage Extension button in the pop-up page.

  • Click the Slide button next to the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension.

  • The Sangoma CX Click to Dial icon will appear in the toolbar located on the top right side of the browser.


How to Configure and Enable the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension 

The following steps are required to configure the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension before it can be used.

  • Configure the extension’s Access Permissions. Click Here for instructions.

  • Configure the Tenant Domain and enable the extension by providing the Agent credentials. Click Here for instructions.

How to Configure the Click to Dial extension Access Permissions

  • Click on the Extension icon, and select the  “Manage extension” option. 
    Note: Other setting can also be configured for this extension.

  • Click the Details button in the Sangoma CX to Dial tile.

  • Under Site Access select one of the following extension restrictions behaviors:

    • On click: the extension will be disabled for all sites, until the extension icon is clicked.

    • On specific sites: allows this extension to only work on specific websites.

    • On all sites: this is the default setting, making this extension work on all URLs

How to set the Sangoma CX Tenant Domain for the Extension

To set the Sangoma CX Tenant Domain for the Click to Dial extension you must enter the domain name and your Sangoma CX credentials.

  • Open and log into the Sangoma CX Agent Panel.

  • Select the Click to Dial icon 

  • Domain - Enter the Sangoma CX Tenant Domain address. 

  • Login - Enter your Sangoma CX Agent Username

  • Password - Enter your Sangoma CX Agent Password

  • Click the Submit button.

  • If the Agent gets validated a pop-up will display with a welcome message and a red button to log out.

  • Click outside the welcome pop-up message to make the welcome message disappear. The Sangoma CX Click to Dial Extension icon color will changed from Gray to Blue indicating the Click to Dial extension is ready to be used.
    Note: If the extension is not working, validate the extension icon is Blue, meaning it is enabled.

How to Log out of the Sangoma CX Click to Dial Chrome Extension

  • To log out click the Sangoma CX Click to Dial Chrome Extension icon and click the red LOGOUT button.

Note: At the end of your shift make sure to log out from the Sangoma CX Click to Dial Chrome Extension. This will ensure that if your workstation is used by another person, that user will not be able to use the Chrome Extension with your Agent credentials

How to use the Sangoma CX Click to Dial Extension

  • Before using the extension, please make sure that:

    • You login as an Agent on the Sangoma CX Agent Panel.

    • Log into a queue that can make outbound calls.

    • Log into the the Chrome extension using the Agent credentials used to log in the Agent panel.

    • Validate the Domain used in the Chrome extension matches the one in the Agent Panel URL.

  • If you try using the extension without completing the previous steps, you will get an error message.

  • The Click to Dial Extension will recognize phone numbers in the web pages in the browser, convert them to a clickable hyperlink and add the Sangoma CX Click to Dial icon in front of the phone number.

  • Click on the phone number to make an outbound call.
    Note: The Click to Dial Extension supports phone numbers that include spaces, dashes or parentheses. The extension is able to verify it is a phone number, making the Sangoma CX Agent Panel dial the phone number once it is clicked. Example Below: 

How to Uninstall the Click to Dial extension:

  • Right click on the Sangoma CX Click to Dial extension icon and select the “Remove from Chrome” or “Remove from Edge” option based on the browser used.

  • Click the Remove button.
