Can’t share screen/window from Chrome on macOS ?
Can’t share screen/window from Chrome on macOS?
If you are running macOS version 10.15 or later, you must grant access to the new Screen recording permission in order to share your screen during video conference.
This is macOS setting, we don have control over this.
How to enable screen sharing.
1- When you first join/ schedule the video conference on Sangoma Meet, you'll be asked to enable the Screen Recording permission from Google Chrome.
When you see the following dialog, click "Open System Preferences"
If you do not see the dialog box as shown above, manually open the system Preferences, click the "Security and Privacy" icon and then choose "Screen Recording" in the sidebar.
In the Screen Recording selection click the box next to Google Chrome to allow screen sharing for video conference. You may need to click the unlock icon in the bottom-left.
Click "Quit Now" and restart Google Chrome.
Still not able to share screen?
If you have already performed the above steps in the past and still you are not able to share screen.
You may need to perform a one-time reset of the “ScreenCapture” permission, and of any other managed permission to resolve the screen sharing issue on MacOS. This can be accomplished in a few different ways.
Option 1. Use tccutil. This command may be run by any user on the system:
% tccutil reset ScreenCapture com.google.Chrome
(Where to run the command? Go to Applications >> Utilities >> Terminal, from your Mac)
Option 2. Have Google Chrome automatically reset the permission on the next launch. This command must be run as the user that will run Google Chrome:
% defaults delete com.google.Chrome PurgeStaleScreenCapturePermissionSuccessEarly2022Success
% defaults delete com.google.Chrome PurgeStaleScreenCapturePermissionSuccessEarly2022Attempts
Follow steps one to three as mentioned above.
