Switchvox - How do I check the Codec settings for phones on the Switchvox server?
Login as admin and go to:
Setup > Modify > click on the yellow pencil for the extension number > Phone Settings > Codec Settings (scroll to bottom of page)
This table displays the codecs your Digium phone supports in priority of use.
If you are using a SIP provider:
Check Setup > VOIP Provider > modify Provider (yellow pencil) > Call Settings Tab. Any codecs that are in use are turned On.
Audio Codecs
Audio codes can be enabled and ordered for priority of use, or disabled. If the codec is disabled, it does not matter where it falls in the order.
Codec | Bandwidth Usage (kbits/s) | Sound Quality | CPU Usage |
G722 | 85 | Excellent | Low |
G729 | 30 | Good | Medium |
G726 | 54 | Good | Low |
ULAW | 85 | Great | None |
ALAW | 85 | Great | None |
