Initial Configuration:

To configure this feature, the IMG must have an initial configuration on it. Before proceeding verify that ClientView has an initial configuration on it. The Logical Node, Physical Node, and Facilities including IP bearer spans must already be configured to proceed. Verify all initial configuring has been accomplished before proceeding. When configuring the MWI feature with SS7 Redundancy, verify you select the SS7 Primary node when configuring the SS7 Stack.

  • Under the Profiles Object in ClientView select New SIP SGP and the SIP Gateway Profile pane will get created.

  • Under the 'Allow NOTIFY w/o Subscription' select Allow from the drop down menu. See screen capture below.

  • Under the Dialogic IMG EMS object in ClientView, right click and select New External Network Elements and the External Network Elements Pane gets created. See IMG 1010 - External Network Elements for more information on configuring this pane

  • Right Click on the External Network Elements Pane and select New External Gateways. A External Gateways Pane gets created. See IMG 1010 - External Gateways for more information on configuring this pane.

  • Right Click on the External Gateways Pane and select New External Gateway. An External Gateway Pane gets created. Enter the following:

    • Name for this Gateway in the Name Field

    • Select SIP from drop down menu in the 'Gateway Signaling Protocol' field.

    • Select either Gateway IP address or Gateway Host-name and enter IP address or host-name in appropriate fields.

    • Select the profile created above from the list of profiles in drop down menu of the 'SIP Profile' field. See Below

  • Under Dialogic IMG EMS, select New Routing Configuration and the Routing Configuration Pane gets created. See IMG 1010 - Routing Configuration Object for more information on configuring this pane

  • Right Click on the Routing Configuration Object and select New Channel Groups. See IMG 1010 - Channel Groups for more information on configuring this pane.

  • Right Click on Channel Groups pane and select New Channel Group. A Channel Group Pane appears. Enter the following:

    • Name for this Channel Group

    • Select SIP from drop down menu in the Signaling Type field.
      Refer to the IMG 1010 - Channel Group topic for more information on configuring the rest of this pane.

  • Right Click on the Channel Group Pane and select New IP Network Element. An IP Network Element Pane gets created. Select from a drop down menu in the 'IP Network Element' field the gateway that was configured above.

  • At this point, the Incoming SIP side of the configuration is complete. Follow instructions below to configure the outgoing SS7 side.

  • Right Click on the Physical IMG object in the object tree of ClientView and select New Signaling. A Signaling Pane will get created.

  • Right Click on the Signaling object just created and select New SS7. An SS7 StandAlone object will get created. See IMG 1010 - SS7 Signaling Object for more information on configuring this pane.

    • Right Click on the SS7 StandAlone object created and select New SS7 Stack. An SS7 Stack Pane will get created. Enter the information needed for your specific network. The first part of configuring the IMG for MWI is to enable SCCP and TCAP signaling in the stack. Select ANSI from drop down menu of both the SCCP and TCAP fields. Feature 1580 is not supported in ITU, only ANSI. See screen capture below.

  • Right Click on the Logical IMG Object and select New GCL Services. See IMG 1010 - GCL Services for more information.

  • Right Click on GCL Services object and select New SIP-TCAP MWI (Interworking). In the Subsystem field select from drop down menu the stack that was created earlier. See screen capture below. For more information on the SIP-TCAP MWI (Interworking) object, see IMG 1010 - SIP - TCAP MWI

  • Once the GCL Service has been created, the new service can be added to the SIP Channel Group created above. Right Click on the SIP Channel Group created above and select New Service. 

  • Select from drop down menu the service that will be associated with this channel group. See IMG 1010 - GCL Service link for more information on the 'Service' pane in ClientView. See screen capture below.

Configure SS7 Channel Group

  • Right Click on the Channel Groups Object created above and select New Channel Group. Enter a name for this Channel Group and select SS7 as the signaling type. See IMG 1010 - Channel Group for more information on configuring the Channel Group

  • Right Click on the Channel Group just created and select New ISUP Group. In the OPC-DPC of the object created, select the correct OPC/DPC form the drop down menu. See screen capture below. The selections below all come from the SS7 Route.

  • Right Click on the ISUP SS7 Server object and select New Circuits. Select the IMG Name along with the specific span/channels. See IMG 1010 - Circuit Group for more information on configuring the Circuits object.

  • Configuring the MWI feature has been accomplished. Below is screen capture of the directory tree when finished configuring.
