Ethernet Redundancy on the IMG 1010 and IMG 2020
Â
The Dialogic IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway and Dialogic IMG 2020 Integrated Media Gateway (IMG 2020) support Ethernet redundancy on all network interfaces located on the rear panel. This enables the IMG Gateway to initiate an automatic switchover to the standby port if a link failure occurs on the active port.
Â
Redundant Ethernet port pairs on the IMG 1010:
CTRL 0, CTRL 1 - 10/100BaseT. Â Used for communication with GCEMS.
DATA 0, DATA 1 - 10/100/1000BaseT. Used for RTP traffic and signalling over IP.
SIG 0, SIG 1 - 10/100BaseT. Used for signalling over IP.
On the IMG 1010, the MAC address of the secondary Ethernet port is 1 higher than the MAC address of the primary port.Â
Redundant Ethernet port pairs on the IMG 2020:
CTRL 0, CTRL 1Â - 10/100/1000BaseT. Used as the Bootup IP address and EMS communication.
DATA A0, DATA A1 -Â 10/100/1000BaseT. Used for RTP traffic and IP signalling.
DATA B0, DATA B1 -Â 10/100/1000BaseT. Used for RTP traffic and IP signalling.
AUX 0, AUX 1Â - Reserved for future use.
DATA C0, DATA C1 - Only available with the IMG 2020 model with DS3_Optical I/O; reserved for future use.
DATA D0, DATA D1 - Only available with the IMG 2020 model with DS3_Optical I/O; reserved for future use.
On the IMG2020, both ports of a redundant pair of Ethernet ports share the same MAC address.
Â
Additional Information:
Each of the IMG 1010 and 2020 network interfaces should be set to "auto" in the switch connected to IMG ports to enable auto-negotiation.
All IMG network interfaces should be in "full duplex" mode which can be verified using "n @" commands in CLI in Advanced Debug:Â
Advanced Debug> n
zNet> @The IMG 1010 and IMG 2020 also have an Ethernet Redundancy via Smart Probe feature which enables the IMG to employ a probe-based detection mechanism in addition to detecting link failures on an Ethernet port.Â
