MWI - (SIP/TCAP Interworking)

The SIP-TCAP Interworking MWI object is created under the GCL Services object. The SIP-TCAP Interworking object has a drop down menu which will display all the subsystem numbers created. The SIP-TCAP Interworking object can be used to associate a service with a particular channel group. Once the SIP-TCAP Interworking object is created, it can be added as a New Channel Group Service to a SIP Channel Group. This object is used in the configuration of the MWI feature. For more information, refer to the IMG 1010 - GCL Service topic which is configured under the SIP Channel Group object. The Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) over TCAP is supported in both ANSI and ITU protocols.

Related Topics and Dependencies

Before creating the MWI object, an SS7 stack configured for SCCP/TCAP must first be configured. Under the SS7 stack, the SCCP/TCAP object can be created and then the Subsystem number. Once the Subsystem Number is created, the MWI SIP-TCAP Interworking object can be created. Within the MWI SIP-TCAP Interworking object the Subsystem Number can then be selected.
