Create a Dial-Up connection with Diva Media board

The connection example used below is to the Dialogic RAS server in the UK, which can also be used for testing purposes at either 64Kbps or 128Kbps. In order to create your own connection, for example a genuine Internet connection, you will of course need to substitute the number and logon details given to you by your Internet Service Provider.Â

1. In order to create a 64Kbps dial-up connection follow the step-by-step procedure below.
From the Desktop, click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network and Dial-Up connection.Â
Click on the icon named 'Make a new Connection'.Â
At the Network Connection Wizard, click 'Next'.
2. Choose to 'Dial-up to the Internet'.
3. Select 'I want to set up my connection manually'.
4. Select 'I connect through a phone line modem'.
5. Now, select the modem/ISDN channel to use.
6. Internet Account Connection Information
Uncheck the 'Use area code and dialing rules' box
Type the number to dial your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in 'Telephone number'
7. Now, type in the 'User name' and 'Password' given to you by your ISP
8. Give your Internet Connection a name - for example, the name of your ISP
9. In 'Set Up your Internet Account' select 'No'.
10. Complete the Internet Connection Wizard by clicking 'Finish'
11. You are now ready to dial out connecting a 64Kbps.
Setting up a 128Kbps Connection.
If you want to connect at 128kbps you will need to access the 'Properties' of the Internet connection you created above, and then tick both the Diva ISDN channels. Make sure the option 'All devices call the same numbers' is also ticked.Â
