Dialogic Voice Cards - Using the CFG tool in Service Release 6.1 for Linux
Introduction
When creating or modifying the configuration of a Dialogic JCT series Media Board, the CFG tool can be used. This guide discusses some of the options that the CFG tool provides, as well as things to keep in mind when using the tool.
Using the CFG Tool
JCT Series
The adjustable parameters for JCT series media boards are different to those for DM3 series media boards, as the ways the boards receive their configurations are fundamentally different:
Model Name - This is only needed if a board shares a device ID with another board. When selected, it will display that name for that board in the CFG menu.
Trunk Configuration - Like the DM3, this allows you to set the trunk configuration for T1/E1 boards. For each span, you can pick an ISDN protocol or, if R2/CAS is to be used, NONE.
Note: When setting the ISDN protocol to be used, the Firmware files will not be altered. If these are set manually in the dialogic.cfg, then those settings will stay until removed. You may wish to manually confirm your configuration in the dialogic.cfg file if you have manually altered it before.
PBX File - this allows you to set a file that loads common configurations for PBXes for a PBX integration board. This option is only applicable for PBX boards, and will show as "NOT APPLICABLE" for other types of boards.
TDM Bus Settings
TDM Bus Encoding Method - this allows you to set which encoding method the TDM bus will use for its audio. The two available options are A-law and mu-law.
TDM Bus Role Setting - this allows you to set primary and secondary master cards, as well as NetRefs Master and Fallback, Bus Types, Clock Sources, and Clock Rates.
