Feature Code Descriptions

Introduction

This page gives a description of common feature code headings. Please note that featurecodes may be added by any module so you may have feature codes not reflected here. 

Blacklist Feature Codes

Blacklist a number

Adds a number to the Blacklist Module. All calls from that number to the system will receive a disconnect recording.

Blacklist the last caller

Adds the last caller to the Blacklist Module. All calls from that number to the system will receive a disconnect recording.

Remove a number from the blacklist

Remove a number from the Blacklist Module.

Note:  These Feature Codes work together with the Blacklist Module.  Numbers can be added or removed in the Blacklist Module as well.

Call Forwarding Feature Codes

Call Forward All Activate

Forward all calls to an extension to another number.

Call Forward All Deactivate

Deactivates Call Forward All Activate.

Call Forward All Prompting Deactivate 

Prompts user for an extension to deactivate call forward all.

Call Forwarding Busy Activate

Forward calls when the extension is busy.

Call Forwarding Busy Deactivate 

Deactivates Call Forwarding

Busy Call Forward No Answer/Unavailable Activate 

Forwards calls when an extension does not answer after xx seconds.

Call Forward No Answer/Unavailable Deactivate

Deactivates Call Forward when the user is unavailable or does not answer

Call Forward No Answer/Unavailable Activate

Activate call forwarding when the user is unavailable or does not answer

Call Forward Toggle

Toggles call waiting to it's apposing state

Note:  The Call Forwarding status for each extension can be viewed in the Extension Settings Module.

 

Call Waiting Feature Codes

Call Waiting Activate  

Allows the extension to receive incoming calls even when the extension is in use, if phone supports multiple calls.

Call Waiting Deactivate  

Deactivates Call Waiting.  If the extension is in use and another call comes in, the call will go to the busy destination set in the Extensions Module.

Note:  The Call Waiting status for each extension can be viewed in the Extension Settings Module.

Core Feature Codes

Asterisk General Call Pick  

Dial this feature code from a non-ringing extension to answer a call that is ringing to another extension.

In order for this feature code to work:

  • The ringing extension must have a group number in its Callgroup Field in the Extensions module

  • The non-ringing extension must have the same group number set in the Pickupgroup Field in the Extensions Module. If you want an entire office to be able to pick-up any other extension using this code, set the callgroup and pickupgroup to 1 for every extension.

ChanSpy

Will monitor calls made on the PBX. Press the asterisk key (*) to cycle through different channels. The parties the call cannot hear you when using this feature.

Directed Call Pickup

Dial this feature code plus an extension number to pick-up a call ringing on that extension.

In-Call Asterisk Attended Transfer 

Dial this code while on a call to transfer the call to another extension. After announcing the call, press ??*** to complete the transfer.

In-Call Asterisk Blind Transfer

Dial this code while on a call to transfer a call to another extension without announcing the transfer. When your hear the dial tone, dial the number to which you wish to transfer

User Logoff 

This code allows a User to log-out from a Device when the PBX is configured to use Device & User Mode.

User Login

This code allows a User to login to a Device when the PBX is configured to use Device & User Mode

ZapBarge

This code allows a user to monitor the audio on a Zaptel/Dahdi Channel.

 

Call Flow Control

Use these codes to set the Feature Codes used to activate and deactivate Call Flow Controls that are set-up in the Call Flow Control Module.

Dictation

Do Not Disturb (DND)

Puts an extension into Do Not Disturb state. All calls to the extension will return a busy signal, or send the call to voicemail. 

DND Deactivate

Takes an extension out of Do Not Disturb State.

DND Toggle

Toggles the Do Not Disturb State for an extension. 

Note:  

The DND status for each extension can be viewed in the Extension Settings Module. This feature operates independently from the DND feature on the device itself.

Follow Me

Findme Follow Toggle:  Toggles Follow Me for an extension on or off.  Only works when dialed from the extension for which Follow Me is configured.

Paging and Intercom

Parking Lot

Pickup ParkedCall Any

When a parking lot is configured in the Parking Lot Module, a user can park a call by transferring the call to Extension 70.  Before the transfer is completed, the local user will hear the Extension Number on which the call is parked, which is usually 71, 72, 73, 74, etc.  This Feature Code will allow you to pick-up the parked call without knowing which Extension Number the call is parked at.

Phonebook Directory

Phonebook dial-by-name directory

Directory system that allow you to look-up any extension by dialing the first three digits of the name assigned in the extension module. Also, allows you to look-up numbers defined in the Asterisk Phonebook Module by dialing the first three digits of the name defined there.

Queues

Queue Toggle

Allow Dynamic Members of a Queue to log-in or log-out. See the Queues Module for how to assign a Dynamic Member to a Queue.

Recordings

Check Recording 

This feature code is used in conjunction with the System Recordings Module to listen to a recording before saving it.

Save Recording

Used in conjunction with the System Recordings Module to make a recording for use in other modules (Announcements, IVR, etc.). Go to System Recordings, Click Add Recording, Type your extension number in the box, and click "Go" for more instructions.

Time Conditions

These feature codes are defined in the Time Conditions module. 

Voicemail

Dial Voicemail

Used to check any voicemail box on the system

My Voicemail

Used to check the voicemail box assigned to the extension dialing the feature code
