Video is all garbled after install

  • This happens with the OS does not understand your monitor or video driver.  This can be fixed by booting the machine with the "nomodeset" flag in grub.

  • On boot of your machine when the grub screen comes up press the "a" key

     

  • You will now be presented with this screen to modify the grub boot options

     

  • add the nomodeset option at the end of the file and press enter
