IMG 1010 - Configuring CIC's - 10.5.1

The following procedure will explain how to configure CICs and associate them with specific channels groups. Follow procedure below.

Preliminary Setup:

  • SS7 Signaling will need to be configured first. Click on one of the links below to bring you to correct procedure.

  • Once the SS7 Signaling has been configured, the SS7 cic's can be configured. The CIC's are configured under the channel groups. To configure channel groups, first right click on IMG EMS an select New Routing Configuration. A Routing Configuration Pane will appear.

  • Right Click on the Routing Configuration object and select New Channel Groups. A Channel Group Pane will appear.

  • Right Click on Channel Groups and select New Channel Group. Give this channel group a name and select SS7 from the drop down menu of the 'Signaling Type' field. For more information on how to configure the Channel Group see IMG 1010 - Channel Group

  • Right Click on the Channel Group object and select New ISUP Group. Select from drop down menu in the OPC-DPC field which stack will be controlling the cics on this channel group. See ISUP Group topic for more information on configuring ISUP Group on this Channel Group.

  • Right Click on ISUP Stack ID object and select New Circuits. These are the CICs. From drop down menu in the IMG Name Field select which IMG the cics will be associated with. See screen capture below.

  • Continue by configuring the Spans and Channels that the CIC's will be configured on. See IMG 1010 - Circuit Group for more information on configuring this pane.

  • The CIC's have now been configured and are associated with a specific IMG.
