Routing Overview

The IMG 2020 router is a robust routing engine that selects an outgoing channel for an incoming call based on a set of user-defined routing criteria. It can perform pre and post routing translation and handle various call processing functions such as rerouting an incoming call to a different channel group or overriding cause code treatments. The information below is a high level document giving an overview of the routing process and any routing features supported on the IMG 2020.

Additional Information

  • The IMG 2020 supports up to 66 total Route/Cause Code/Service Routing Tables per BDN EMS. Each table can support up to 5000 entries. The IMG 2020 has a max capacity of 100,000 entries, or 20 tables each with 5000 entries.

  • Each IMG 2020 supports four route tables unique to the system which allows the BDN EMS to control, monitor, and maintain 250 discrete gateways.

  • Route tables can be configured to be specific to a particular gateway, or configured to be global.

  • The IMG 2020 can route from one route table to another with the ability to prevent looping.

  • The IMG 2020 can be configured to accept calls from multiple gateways with one External Gateway Entry using the Gateway Mask field.

  • Translation is supported during routing process.

  • Translation based on Channel group selection is supported.

  • ANI and DNIS translations are supported.

  • SIP INFO digits (#, *) can be appended.
