Configuring a Polycom® VVX® 300 / VVX® 310

Configuring for Local Use

If the phone is not registering, you can use this process to reconfigure it for the Business Voice system. However, before going through these steps, make sure that the extension has been entered in to the portal, the MAC address of the particular phone has been entered for the customer by Sangoma and the changes have been saved out to the StarBox® Voice Optimized SD-WAN. If these steps have not been taken, the phone will not be able to register with the local StarBox® Voice Optimized SD-WAN.

The correct way to update a Polycom®'s VVX®'s configuration:

If a user would like to apply any changes that they make via the Business Voice portal. (Buddy's, Speed dials, number of parks, phone options.)  The User would need to perform one of these reboot processes.

  1. Power cycle the phone (remove the cat 5 cable) or disconnect the power supply if the phone is not connected to a PoE switch.

  2. Under menu go to Settings ---->Advanced----> Enter User password (Default is 123) -----> Reboot Phone...(Note) in some instances the phone will need to be rebooted twice.

(Note) the option under Menu ---> settings ---> basic ---> restart  will only reload the current configuration and will not apply any new changes.
