Â
Telephony card installation is very simple:
Power off server and remove cover to access the PCI/PCIexpress slots
Identify the PCI/PCIexpress slot to be used for your telephony card
Remove the backplate for that slot, from the server.Â
This backplate may require screwdriver to remove screws before pulling off the backplate. Use your discretion
Insert the telephony card into the PCI/PCIexpress slot and verify it is firmly seated
With the faceplate lines up with the mounting bracket, screw it firmware in place.
verify the E1/T1 ports are lined up and fully accessible from the back of the server before securing position
Plug in your E1/T1 cables into the telephony card
if you are unsure of the pinouts, see below for details
Place server cover back on and power on
Â
E1/T1 Cable Pinouts
Your telephony card port uses the standard E1/T1 RJ45 cable pinouts.
It comes shipped with straight-through cables, with pinouts as seen below:
Â
If you require a cross-over cable, you can make your own, however it is best to purchase pre-made to prevent the possibility of improper assembly.
If you do decide to make your own cross-over cables, use specific E1/T1 cables, or CAT5 and make sure you have a good crimper to secure the wires.
