Hardware Configuration
A single AFT A200 card supports 4 Analog ports (FXS/FXO). To increase capacity one can add on "Daughter Cards" labeled "Remoras", that connect to the main AFT200 card using a backplane bus. One can cascade up to 5 "Daughter Cards" increasing capacity to 24 Analog ports
When using FXS modules and/or additional remora daughter cards, you must connect a Molex connector (4-pin) from the server power supply to the card. Â
The molex connector provided both 12 Volts and 5 Volts. FXS modules require 12 volts and remora boards require 5 Volts. Â

Â
FXO/FXS Module Installation
Slide the modules into the main card until they click in properly. You should be able to read the designation FXO or FXS on the outside of the card (Remora) after installation.
Â
FXO modules are RED in color
FXS modules are GREEN in color
FXO/FXS Modules have RED/GREEN face and BLUE back. The analog port will glow RED (if FXO module) or GREEN (if FXS module)  depending on which type of modules is installed.
An A200 Analog card can be outfitted with any combination of the two. Furthermore, each RJ4 pin port is either mapped to FXO or FXS module depending on the physical location of the FXO/FXS module on the card
Â
Module Configuration Examples:
FXO on ports 3, 4 Â | FXS on ports 1, 2 Â |
FXS (1,2) FXO (3,4) Â | FXO ports 1,2,3,4 Â |

Telephony card installation is very simple:
Power off server and remove cover to access the PCI/PCIexpress slots
Identify the PCI/PCIexpress slot to be used for your telephony card
Remove the backplate for that slot, from the server.Â
This backplate may require screwdriver to remove screws before pulling off the backplate. Use your discretion
Insert the telephony card into the PCI/PCIexpress slot and verify it is firmly seated
With the faceplate lines up with the mounting bracket, screw it firmware in place.
verify the E1/T1 ports are lined up and fully accessible from the back of the server before securing position
Plug in your E1/T1 cables into the telephony card
if you are unsure of the pinouts, see below for details
Place server cover back on and power on
Analog Cable WiringÂ
The A200 and Remora™ cards incorporate 4-pin RJ11/4 narrow jacks, such as those used in telephone handsets
Each Sangoma A200 card is shipped with four 2 m cables terminating in a narrow RJ11/4 plug at one end and a telephone-standard RJ11/6 plug at the other
To hardwire the A200 system, you can purchase a kit of 12 RJ11/4 plugs and a crimping tool, sold separately
