Provisioning DS-1's
Â
Provisioning spans is achieved through the DS-1 Span which is located within the DS-1 Spans object. There are a couple ways to provision the DS-1's. The information below describes the multiple ways a DS-1 can be provisioned. For additional information on the functionality below, refer to the DS-1 Span topic. The functionality below The procedures are described below.
Provisioning a single DS-1
The procedure below assumes the DS-1's have already been configured and are at the point of being able to process calls.
Within the Web GUI, click on the DS-1 object pane. The object pane will display all the DS-1's and DS-0's configured on that particular interface.
In the Object Table tab at the bottom of the Web GUI page, click on the DS-1 to be provisioned. A new screen will appear displaying the DS-1 selected as displayed below.Â
To provision the selected DS-1, either click on one of the buttons within the object pane or right click on the span within the object table and select one of the functions from the list that appears. These two methods are displayed above.
Provisioning a Range Of DS-1's
To provision a range of DS-1's, follow the procedure below.
Within the Object Table Tab at the bottom of the DS-1 Span object is a list of CICs within that interface. Highlight the 1st DS-1 in the range of DS-1's to be provisioned.
Hold down the <SHIFT> key on the keyboard and select the last DS-1 in the range of DS-1's to be provisioned. All the DS-1's between these two selections will automatically be selected.
Right Click anywhere within the highlighted area and a list of provisioning options will appear. Select the desired operation to perform on all the selected DS-1's. The desired operation will now occur on all the DS-1's selected. Refer to screen capture below where logical DS-1's 33 through 36 were selected and are to be brought Out Of Service.
OPTIONAL: The selection of the DS-1's can also be achieved in a random pattern as well as a range of DS-1's. Highlight the first DS-1 to be provisioned. Hold down the <Ctrl> key on the keyboard and click on a second DS-1 anywhere in the list. This will highlight both. Right click and select one of the provisioning operations and that operation will occur on both DS-1's selected. This can be done with multiple DS-1's.
Below is a table describing the functions of each of the selections.
