M3UA SS7 Destination

The SS7 Destination object is created under each individual SS7 stack that is configured. The SS7 Destination object communicates to the stack what the Destination Point Code of the SS7 endpoint is. The SS7 Destination is termed as the endpoint in an SS7 network and is not considered any of the signaling transfer points the SS7 signaling passes through to get to the endpoint. To create the Destination object, right click on the SS7 stack created and select New Destination.

The SS7 Destination object is used when configuring a TDM SS7 network and is also used when configuring an M3UA network.

Maximum Objects

Up to 256 Destinations/Routes can be created per SS7 stack.

Related Topics and Dependencies (SS7)

When creating an SS7 network which includes stacks, links, link sets, routes, destinations, etc, the dependencies are too numerous to explain in this document. Please refer to the Configure SS7 topic for information on how to configure an SS7 network.

Related Topics and Dependencies (M3UA)

After creating the M3UA Application Server (AS) stack, the remote Signaling Gateway stacks, and the sigtran links/associations, the route to the remote signaling gateway must be created. This is achieved through the M3UA Destination object and the M3UA AS Route object. First the M3UA Destination object is created under the Application Server Stack and then the route to the Destination Point Code is configured through the M3UA AS Route object. Refer to the Configure IMG 2020 as AS Server for more in depth configuration information.
