Smart Probe Endpoint
The Smart Probe Endpoint object along with the Smart Probe Detection and Logical Interface object configure the IMG 2020 to utilize the Smart-Probing feature. The Smart-Probing feature enhances the fault tolerance of the IMG 2020 by sending a Gratuitous ARP to each of the network endpoints configured as Smart Probe Endpoints. If the endpoints configured do not respond to the ARP within a specified amount of time, the IMG 2020 will automatically switch-over to the standby interface. The Smart Probe Endpoint object configures which IP addresses the IMG 2020 will to send the Gratuitous ARPs to. To configure the Smart Probe Endpoint object refer to the information below.
If multiple Smart Probe Endpoints are configured, the switchover will not occur unless ALL endpoints fail to respond to the ARP requests.

The Smart Probe Endpoint configures what IP Address the Gratuitous ARP's will be sent to. Prior to configuring the Smart Probe Endpoint, the Logical Interface that the Smart Probe feature will be configured on needs to be created. Once this is created, the intervals that the Gratuitous ARPs are sent, and the number of Gratuitous ARP's that can be sent before the switchover occurs needs to be configured. This is configured in the Smart Probe Detection object. Once the Logical Interface and Smart Probe Detection objects have been created, the Smart Probe Endpoint can then be configured.
