How to configure a VoIP Provider with Primus (bvoice.primus.ca)

If you are experiencing SIP registration issues with your Primus VoIP provider, and their Support team has informed you that Switchvox is either not sending the correct hostname in the SIP Request URI or Switchvox is adding the route header to the SIP registration. You can address this issue by adding\;lr\;hideto the proxy host under the connection tab of your VoIP provider configuration page.

  • ;lr  flag: Enables loose routing , which will not alter the request URI.

  • ;hide flag: configures the SIP Channel driver to not send or hide the route header.

we use \ before the semi colon as escape character as such the system read the proxy as single string rather than break at the semi colon.

Please note that proxy.ip.or.fqdn is a Proxy host that should be provided by Primus, if you are unsure about what this should be, we suggest to review the configuration sheet that should have been provided or reach out to Primus asking for this information.
