Advanced Mobile App Network Settings
Â
The Advanced Network Settings for Sangoma Talk Mobile offer the following options for specific network environments.
If you change these settings for the user, the Sangoma Talk Mobile app must be Reset, and the user must reconfigure. They can request an invitation email for themselves at any time (see Replacement Email Invitation).Â
By default, the Advanced Settings is No (the settings are not used).
STUN (Default is empty)
Server. STUN server to use. When empty, the app will make a DNS SRV query forÂ
_stun._udp.sipserver
and uses the returned address. If no port is specified, 3478 is usedUsername: Username for STUN/TURN server. If filled in, we’ll consider the STUN server TURN-capable.
Password: Password for STUN/TURN server.
Nat Traversal
Auto (Default):Â does a STUN query for a public address. If symmetric NAT is not detected, the global address is used. In case of symmetric NAT, TURN server is used if STUNUsername is filled in, otherwise private/local address is used
Off:Â always send local/private IP address detected from local network interface. No public address resolution is done
Stun: will do a STUN query and always use the obtained public address (unless symmetric NAT is detected or if Ignore Symmetric Nat is set to On)
Turn always:Â will always use TURN server
ICE:Â will use the ICE process to choose the best address
Ignore Symmetric Nat
Off (Default).Â
On: does not check for symmetric NAT and uses the public IP even when on symmetric NAT. This is not recommended, since the IP:port detected will most likely not be accessible from outside, but sometimes it may be necessary to send the public IP even though the port is wrong.
Address to use in Contact and via SIP Headers: By default we use "internal". This includes 3 options, and they are:Â
Internal (Default):Â uses the local/private in the Contact and Via SIP header.Â
External: tries to determine the public address using STUN ping, OPTIONS packet or STUN server and use it in Contact and Via header.Â
Static:Â uses a static address in Contact and Via header, the address is specified in Forced Contact.
Forced Contact (Default is empty). This is the address sent if the option "Address to use in Contact and via SIP Headers" is set to Static.
