Updates 

This article is a companion document for the SwitchvoxUpdates video and will guide you through how to update your Switchvox system. 

• Where to Find

Updates may be found in the Switchvox Administration portal under Server -> Maintenance -> Updates. 

• Current System Info

On the Updates main page, you will see the current system information for Switchvox.

• Current Version- shows which version of Switchvox you are running. Note: next to the version number is a link to review the release notes for you current version- simply click on Release Notes to view). 

• Subscription Expiration- shows you on which date your Switchvox subscription will expire. This is important to keep an eye on because your support is tied to this date. 

• Maximum User Extensions- shows the total number of user extensions that are available on your Switchvox, as well as how many are currently being used.

• Phone Feature Packs- shows the number of feature packs that are available on your Switchvox, as well as how many are currently being used. Note: feature packs are only available for some Polycom and Snom phone models. Reference the Digium website for which models are supported. 

• Available Updates

This section shows if there are any new updates that may be applied to your Switchvox system. The more info link next to the update will show you the release notes for this update. Actions that may be taken are Download for Installation Later or Download and Apply.

To download, select Download and Apply. You will see a warning stating what will happen when you proceed- click Yes to move forward with the update. 

Note: it is always best practice to create a backup and download it before applying an update. You can read more about how to create a backup here. When applying an update, Switchvox will reboot, so it is recommended that you perform your update during non-business hours.
