HUD Mobile

Overview

HUD Mobile has been updated for both Android and iPhone mobile devices.  Hud Mobile allows Fonality customers to stay connected to their company from any Wi-Fi or 3G/4G/LTE network for a mobile experience unlike any other.

In order to use HUD Mobile, a company needs the appropriate level of Fonality service and to enable a user for HUD Mobile via a license assignment.  After those have been accomplished, the HUD Mobile App is downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.  After the App is installed on an Android or Apple device, a user can log into HUD from anywhere and communicate as if they were still at the office!

HUD Mobile provides the following:

  • Live employee directory and status.  See everyone in your company and whether or not they are logged in or on a call.  One click access to call (their extension or their cell), SMS, chat, or email everyone at any time.

  • Chat with your team.  Instant messaging is included, so you can send and receive chat messages in real time with your entire company.

  • Easy Login.  Just use the same username and password you use to login to everything else, including Fonality's famous Heads Up Display and our Control Panel.

  • Voicemail, visually.  All your office voicemail messages appear in a list, allowing you to pay, pause, keep or delete, and call back callers that leave you messages.

  • Conference calls.  Conference bridge control is included, and all your conference rooms appear, along with detail showing who is in them, allowing you to one-click join any room at any time and add multiple participants from your mobile phone.

  • Soft Phone.  HUD Mobile includes a user activated soft phone that works on either Wifi or 4G/LTE.

  • Call center management.  You can log in and out of queues, and for each queue, display real time agent status, live calls, broadcast messages, and call center statistics, just like the desktop and web versions of HUD.

Purchasing HUD Mobile

Each user within a customer's company that would like to use HUD Mobile will need a license
from Fonality. The administrator for the company should contact their Fonality’s Sales Representative for information.

Requirements for HUD Mobile

  • CP 12.8 or higher (support for Simultaneous Ringing)

  • Android 4.1 - 5.1.1

  • iPhone iOS 7 or later

  • HUD Mobile License

  • Mobile Phone number entered into the Control Panel (CP)

Activating HUD Mobile for Users

The administrator for a company’s server must activate the HUD Mobile license on for each user
account via the following steps:

  1. Log into the Control Panel for your server

  2. Select “Users/Extensions” from the top menu

  3. Select “View Users” from the drop down menu

  4. Select the users name to be given HUD Mobile

  5. Select the “Licensing Settings” box for the user

  6. Check the “HUD Mobile” license box

Downloading and Installing HUD Mobile

To use HUD Mobile, a user will first need to download and install the app.

  1. Go to the Apple AppStore or Android Market and search for Fonality HUD Mobile.

  2. Once the app is found, select it and then select the ‘install’ option

  3. HUD mobile will download and install itself

  4. Once installed navigate to the application menu and select the Fonality icon

  5. The username and password credentials are the same as those for HUD Web

Logging in for the First Time

The first time that HUD Mobile is started, a user will be asked to log in with their user name and password credentials. These credentials are the same as their normal HUD username and password, but they will need to have a HUD Mobile license to be able to use the HUD Mobile application.

Please note that the ‘server’ field will be automatically populated and will not need to be changed.

Once a user has entered their username and password credentials, HUD mobile will perform the
“First Sync” with their server, linking data between HUD mobile and HUD at their office. Once
the data sync is complete (approximately 1 minute), HUD Mobile will possess the same contacts
and permissions that they have on HUD Web or HUD Desktop.

Open Port Requirements:

HUD Mobile requires these ports to be open on a customer's router/firewall.

  • TCP 443

  • TCP 5222

Most firewalls don't block these outbound, but if you have an on-site server, see Port Forwarding and Security Considerations
