T1 Dialing Problems

T1 Dialing Problems

Occasionally, you may encounter a switch that requires a PRI dialplan setting of something other than the default of 'national'.

In these cases, you will need to modify zapata.conf to set pridialplan=unknown (or one of the other valid options: local, private, or international). Asterisk must be restarted for this change to take effect.

As easy way to determine if this is the case:

  1. Dial 18005551212 (note if the call goes through)

  1. Dial a local 7-digit number

If #1 succeeded, but #2 did not. The carrier is most likely routing calls based on the Dialplan being set. In this case, "national" would be incorrect for a 7-digit local number.

After setting pridialplan= to "unknown", all calls should go out without a problem.

You will need to restart asterisk for these changes to take effect.
