Changing Ring Tones
Ring Tones
The following is a list of the 5 available ring tones on your Sangoma Phone:
Ring 6 thru 10 are custom ring tones that you can upload and manage yourself as outlined here.Â
Default Ring Tone
You can set the default ring tone to be used on your phone on a per-template basis from End Point Manager (EPM). The default ring tone will be used unless something else specifically changes the ring tone as outlined below.
Â
Go into End Point Manager in your PBX and select the Sangoma brand in the menu.
Click on the template that you want to change a ring tone for.
ÂClick on the Options menu tab at the top
Use the Ring Tone drop-down menu to select the default ring tone.
ÂYou now need to update the phone configuration file. Your three options at the bottom of the template are:
Save Template- This will only save your changes to the PBX database. It will not write out new config files for the phones that are using this template as mapped in the Extension Mapping section of End Point Manager.
and Rebuild Configs- This will save your changes to the PBX database and will also write out new config files for the phones that are using this template as mapped in Extension Mapping section of End Point Manager. The phones will need to be rebooted in order to retrieve the changes.
and Force Update- This will do both the "Save Template" and the "and Rebuild Configs" options, and will also immediately update any phones that are mapped to use this template and currently registered to the PBX, with no need to reboot the phones.
Extension-to-Extension Call Ring Tone
You can set the ring tone that will be used when one extension dials another extension from your PBX.
To set this default ring tone, you will need to navigate to the Advanced Settings module found under the Settings menu in your PBX Admin GUI.
Find the Internal Alert Info setting and set one of 5 ring tones.
ÂBy default, the Alert Info will be set to inherit, which means the PBX will use whatever Ring Tone may have been set previously in the call flow, and if none was defined, it will use the Ring Tone that is configured as the phone's default Ring Tone.
Click the Submit button.
Click the Apply Config button.
Blind Transfer Ring Tone
You can set the ring tone that will be used when an extension blind transfers a call to another extension.
To set this default ring tone, you will need to navigate to the Advanced Settings module found under the Settings menu in your PBX Admin GUI.
Find the Blind Transfer Alert Info setting and set one of 5 ring tones.
Attended Transfer Ring Tone
This feature is only supported by Asterisk 13 or newer. Older versions of Asterisk do not support this feature.
You can set the ring tone that will be used when an extension transfers a call to another extension using an attended transfer.
Â

Find the Attended Transfer Alert Info setting and set one of 5 ring tones.
Ring Tone from Specific Modules in your PBX
You can set the ring tone to be used for each of the following places in your PBX. This will override the default ring tone of the phone and replace it with the ring tone defined here only when a call comes in from one of the following PBX destinations:
Â
Directory
Follow Me
Inbound Routes
Parking
Queues
Ring Group
IVR
Â
To set the ring tone for calls that come from a specific destination:
Navigate to the settings for the destination in the PBX GUI (for example, the specific directory, follow-me, etc.).
Change Alert Info field to one of the ring tone options shown below.
Click the Submit button.
Click the Apply Config button.
In the event that an inbound caller flows through more than one destination with a ring tone set, the setting of the last destination the call flowed through before reaching an extension will be used.
