Facility

The Facility object pane is a container object and no configuration is achieved in this object pane. Once the facility object is created, the TDM DS1's/DS0's and the Packet Facility IP ports can be configured below it. To create the Facility object, right click on the IMG 2020 object and select New Facility. A facility object pane will appear and from this object either TDM DS1's/DS0's or Packet Facility ports can be configured to communicate through the interfaces on the IMG 2020 rear panel. Once the facility object is committed, the Synchronization Mode field will automatically be populated with the type of timing that is being utilized on the TDM DS1's. Refer to information below.

The Synchronization Mode field in the Facility object monitors which timing source is used to sync the IMG 2020 to the network. This field is automatically populated with the timing source that is configured in the Timing Synchronization List. If the Timing Synchronization Priority List object has not been created, the Synchronization Mode defaults to Primary Reference. Refer to the topic for more information on timing.

Synchronization Mode

Before connecting the IMG 2020 to a network, the IMG 2020 must be synchronized to a T1/E1 loop timing source such as a T1 or E1 span. The IMG 2020 will allow four different clock sources to be connected to various inputs on the rear of the unit. The Synchronization Mode field displays what timing source is being used to sync the IMG 2020 to the network. If the Timing Synchronization list is not configured, this will default to Primary Reference. For more information refer to Timing Synchronization Priority List and IMG 1010 - Configuring a Synchronization Priority List.
