SIP Signaling - Node Association

The Node Association object is created under the IP Network Element object. The IP Network Element object binds an IP Channel Group such as a SIP Channel group to an external remote gateway in the network. The Node Association object associates the IP address that was configured as a SIP IP Address to an individual Packet Facility. Since there can be multiple Service IP addresses configured to handle SIP Signaling, the Service IP address selected from the drop down menu of the Service IP Address field will be the IP Address used to communicate with the SIP signaling stack. The Media Packet Facility field then selects the packet facilities/IP channels that will communicate with the remote gateway.

Maximum Objects

One Node Association object can be created for each SIP IP Address created.

Related Topics and Dependencies

Before creating the Node Association object, the interfaces (Control, Data A, and/or Data B) must first be configured with a Services IP address on any interface and a Media IP address on interfaces Data A or Data B. The Service IP addresses created are bound to the interface selected when configuring the IP Address object. Once the Service IP addresses are created, the SIP IP Address object can be created using the Enum Client. This object configures the parameters needed to communicate with the SIP stack including the IP Addresses that are configured as Service IP Addresses. The packet facilities can then be created and bound to the Media IP address created. The SIP Channel Group, External Gateway, and IP Network Element can be created and configured so the SIP Channel Group can communicate with a remote gateway. Lastly, the Node Association object is created to bind the Packet Facility and SIP IP Address that will communicate with the SIP stack. Refer to links below.

Field Descriptions

Node

Select from the drop down menu the Physical Node (IMG 2020). Once the node is selected, The Service IP Address and Media Packet Facility fields below it can be configured. The node selected determines what Service IP addresses and Packet Facilities are available to be configured.

Service IP Address

The Service IP addresses available are determined by which node in the Node field above is selected. Once the node above is selected, all the IP addresses configured as a Service IP Address in the IP Address object and SIP IP in the SIP IP Address object will be displayed and available. The IP address selected will communicate with the SIP signaling stack.

Media Packet Facility

Select the Media Packet Facility from drop down menu. Within this drop down menu are all the Packet Facility object configured on the Node selected in the Node field above. The Media Packet Facility object selects a Packet Facility group created under the Packet Facilities object. This field binds a group of IP Channels to a SIP Stack Signaling IP address. The Packet Facility selected will be on the Node selected in the Node field above and the SIP Signaling that will control the Packet Facility selected will use the IP Address selected in the Service IP Address field configured above.

Network Address

Select the Network Address from drop down menu. This field is only available when the Resource Pool field in the Packet Facility is set to Enabled.

ENUM Client

Select the ENUM Client from drop down menu to be associated.
