How to Setup Digium Gateway Call Routing Rules

Incoming Call Rule:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Call Routing Rules

  2. Click Create Call Routing Rule

  3. Leave Simple Entry Mode set to YES

  4. Enter a Name for this rule (this is just a label)

  5. Match Incoming Calls:  set Call Comes in From to port1 (or whatever port you are configuring)

  6. How to Handle Matched Calls: Send Call Through select the SIP endpoint for the Switchvox server

  7. Click Save Call Routing Rule

Note: Fax Callback Extension is optional. Fax calls that do not match any Incoming Call Rules are sent to the Fax Callback Extension. If there is a dedicated fax extension for receiving faxes on the server, you can enter that here.

Outgoing Call Rule, define an opposite rule for calls passing in the other direction:

  1. Click Create Call Routing Rule 

  2. As before, leave Simple Entry Mode set to YES

  3. Enter a Name for this rule (this is just a label)

  4. Match Incoming Calls: set Call Comes in From to the Switchvox server

  5. How to Handle Matched Calls: set Send Call Through to port1 (or whatever you setup for the first rule above).

  6. Click Save Call Routing Rule

Setup call routing rules for each port that will be used in the Gateway.
