Support Services - Password Reset Email Not Working With Microsoft Outlook

When using Microsoft Outlook, you sometimes will find that within the password reset email, the Reset Password link does not do anything when clicked. This is often caused by a security setting within Microsoft Outlook. Follow the below instructions to allow clickable links within Outlook.

Answer

  1. Click on File > Options > Mail > Editor Options > AutoCorrect Options > Auto Format.

  2. Place a check mark in the "internet and network paths with hyperlinks" in the Replace section

  3. Place a check mark in the "plain text e-mail documents" in the Always AutioFormat section

  4. Have the password reset email sent again an retest

Note: Outlook also disables clickable links in emails it thinks are junk mail. If the above doesn't work, try to go to Home > Delete group > Junk > Junk Email Options. Click the Options tab then remove the check mark beside "Disable links and other functionality in phishing messages"
