Third Party Softphones

Fonality will no longer be offering softphones.

 

If you do require a software phone installed for your computer, we recommend the following softphones for the ease of use and free price tag.

Easiest interface, basic features required to place and recieve calls.

 

#2nd Recommendation - X-Lite 4.5 - Click Here to Download

Download the X-Lite 4.5 (Free) version for Windows or Mac

More Features, but a little more complex to setup.

Step-by-Step Setup:

1- Install one of the third party softphone applications to your computer.

2- Launch the Sofphone Application.

3- Go to the Preferences Section of your ZoIPer softphone.

4- Create a New SIP Account to use.

5- Setup the account with your Server Address, SIP User, and SIP Password

 

NOTE: If you are connecting to a remote premise system, you have to enter 'x' after your server ID to tell the phone that you are connecting remotely

{Replace 12345 with your Fonality Server ID}

ie: s12345.pbxtra.fonality.com = Local Phone

     s12345x.pbxtra.fonality.com = Remote Phone (includes the x)

 

Domain= the URL of your fonality server

Username= the MAC Address or SIP Device on your server (Contact support if needed).

Password= secret SIP authentication password located in the CP

Caller ID Name= Extension or Device Name

6- Use the SIP Account we just created to Register your phone to your server.

If you have any issues with SIP Account infromation, Registration or Setup of your SIP account please contact support.
