Why does my Digium phone keep trying to contact the wrong proxy address?

If you have pointed your phone to the Switchvox to get its configuration, and when it reconfigures it tries to contact a different IP address, this can be due to the Phone Network being incorrect.

  1. In Switchvox, go to Server > Phone Networks.

  2. Make sure that there is a network entry for the network that your phone resides on, and that it is configured to direct the phone(s) to a reachable address/hostname for that PBX.

  3. Save the settings, and reconfigure the phone.

 

If that does not help, it may be due to the phone auto-detecting the wrong network. Please try the following:

  1. When the phone fails to contact the proxy, press the "New Server" soft button to go back to the server list.

  2. Press the "Settings" soft button.

  3. Scroll down and select the "Network Settings" option.

  4. Choose "Select Network", and then select the correct network for your phone.

  5. Save and restart the phone.
