What does a Digium phone's admin password change to after the phone has been registered, and where can I find it?

After any Digium phone is registered to a Switchvox system the phone's admin password changes. This article shows where to locate the new password.

  1. Log into your switchvox system as an Administrator.

  2. Navigate to Setup-Extensions-Manage.

  3. Choose the extension you have registered your Digium phone to and click the yellow Modify button.

  4. Select the Phone Settings tab and then scroll down to the bottom of the Digium Phones tab.

  5. Click on Advanced Phone Options and scroll down to the Passwords section. The Phone-admin Password is the new password that the system has assigned for the phone that is registered to this extension.​

  1. If you would like to change the password you can change it to any number between 3 and 10 digits in length, then click the blue Save SIP Extension button at the bottom of the page.
