Unsupported IP Phone Manual Registration

Unsupported IP Phone Manual Registration

Any unsupported IP phone requires a manual registration.  In order to do this you must first know 3 things:

  1. Your servers IP

  2. The extension number you will be using

  3. The phone password

You can set the phone password by logging into the /admin and going to Setup>Manage and then modifying the extension in question.  Once in, choose Phone Settings>Common Settings and update the password.

In order to manually register the phone you will need to log into the phones web interface.  Most phones come equipped with .html files that can be used to easily update the registration information.(If your phone does not have this you may have an LED interface with similar information)

The location of the line information you will be attempting to update will vary, however, it is often called LINES or IDENTITY.

Any type of authorization or username will be your Extension Number
Any type of authorization password will be your phone password
The server or host information will be your servers IP address

Other settings and their correct values you may be required to input:

register: 1
expires: 120
port: 5060
transport: DNSnapter
