IMG 1010 - Inpulsing Parameters

Description:

Use this pane to configure inpulse data collection parameters on specified channels. Use Inpulse Parameters when data is collected by means of an Inseize Instruction . Inpulsing parameters during Call setup define the address signaling type, number of digit strings, and collection method used during call setup. The IMG supports configuring four different inpulsing stages. Each stage is defined as either one or two digit strings. See stages below

The inpulsing stage configuration options include:

  • Address Signaling Type - DTMF, MFR1, MFR2

  • Number of Strings - 1 or 2 strings

  • String Collection Methods 1 and 2 - Fixed number digits, KP/ST framed, Compelled)

When instructing the IMG to collect address signaling information that is typically presented with inband dual frequency tones, you must specify a pre-programmed inpulsing stage that describes how to perform the digit collection.

Field Descriptions:

Stage Number:

There are four stages that are configurable. Select the following from drop down menu.

Stage 1

Stage 2

Stage 3

Stage 4

# of Digit String:

Select from drop down menu the number of digit strings that will be in each stage.

1 string

2 strings

Address Signaling Type:

This field is automatically populated from the Address Signaling Type set in the Signaling Variant pane previously configured. The address signaling type must be the same for both strings within a stage, but may differ between stages. Signaling Types for T1 are as follows:

DTMF

MFR1

Time Out (in ms):

The maximum amount of time from the detection of the first digit until all digits have been collected for the stage. The first digit must be detected or the receive first digit timer must expire before this timer is active.

Collection Method 1:

Use KP/ST signals:

"KeyPulse/Start" Method sends in a keypulse signal at the beginning of the string of digits and a start pulse signifying the end of the string of digits. KP/ST is valid for MFR1 signaling only. If KP/ST signaling is used then the Data field just will default to "Not Used"

Fixed Number of Digits: count

Configure the number of digits to accept before allowing the call to proceed. If Fixed Number of digits is selected then the field will default to 10 digits. You can select from drop down menu 1 to 24 digits.

Use Termination Digit:

If a termination digit is used then select from drop down menu which digit. Options are as follows:

Data- Digit Value

Description

#  (Default)

Use # as terminating digit

*

Use * (Wildcard) as terminating digit

0-9

Use 0-9 as terminating digit

Fixed or Indefinite Number of digits:

If the first digit detected is zero, the Indefinite Number of Digits method is used and the Completion Timer or Interdigit Timer is used (whichever expires first) to terminate digit collection. If the first digit collected is not zero, the Fixed Number of Digits method is used. This method is used to help facilitate collecting digit strings on channels that process national and international calls.

Collection Method 2:

If the # of digit strings is set to 2, all settings in Collection Method 1 apply to Collection Method 2 and the Data field under Collection Method 2

 Address Signaling Type:

Collection Method 1 (MFR1, MFR2, and DTMF):

Compelled: (Compelled Signaling supported on MFR2 and MFR1 only)

A digit collecting method where

  1. The outgoing trunk begins sending the tones that correspond to the signal it wishes to convey in the forward direction.

  2. The incoming trunk, once it is sure to have correctly detected the above signal, begins sending a set of confirmation tones in the backward direction.

  3. The outgoing trunk, once it is sure to have correctly detected the confirmation tones, stops sending the signal tones in the forward direction

  4. The incoming trunk, once it is sure to have detected the end of the signal tones (that is: that the forward channel is now silent) stops sending its confirmation tones in the backward direction.

  5. Before being able to begin sending the next signal, if any, the outgoing trunk needs to ensure that it is receiving silence on the backward channel.
