Support Services - What is Slamming?
Slamming is an illegal telecommunications practice that involves changing a user's phone number or services to a different carrier or service provider without their consent or knowledge. This is most often seen with traditional analog phone systems where a long distance or toll-free service is changed to a different carrier without prior authorization.
Digium Cloud Services uses a process of Letters of Authorization (LoA) in order to protect against this. Any change of carriers requires a written and signed request letter to be verified in order for a number to be ported to or away from our service.
