Delete all server groups - How do I?
Server Groups are the groups that your administrator configures for all HUD client users. Typically, customers setup Server Groups by Company Department. So you may have a 'Finance' group, and a 'Sales' group, and a 'Marketing' group with appropriate employees listed within each.
Should you need to delete these groups in the future (e.g. you decide to roll Finance and Sales into a single entity), you can remove all server groups at once by deleting your roster from your PBXtra .
Where is the roster?
The roster is a simple file sitting on your server keeping track of the various groups and their members. Once you delete the roster file, all contacts move to General (contacts are not deleted neither from your HUD server nor from your PBXtra ).
Shell into your server, and type the following:
rm -rf /usr/local/fonality/hud3.0/caches/users/EXT/roster
EXT = your extension. EXT takes the value WEB_USERNAME@SERVER_HOSTNAME.Â
For example: 1000_7000@ sNNNN.pbxtra.fonality.com where the Ns = your Server ID (SID).
Press Enter when finished.
What did I just do?
To check and find out:
Open HUD3
Show your Contacts window if it's not already viewable (View --> contacts)
Click the drawer on the left side of the Contacts window (it has a small arrow pointing left)
All your groups are gone! Every employee within your company now exists under the General group
But I wanted groups, how do I get them back?
Just Add groups at the bottom of the Contacts drawer.
Type in a group name
Click Add
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until you have all the groups you want
Drag contacts from General into your newly created groups until you have sorted everyone to your liking
