Settings
The Settings window provides options for very nearly every aspect of the HUD3 Client application. Â You can make client-specific changes like changing your Font settings when chatting; you can modify hotkeys and visual settings like transparency. Â The HUD Web Launcher is configured via the Settings window as well.

Alerts
Voicemail Alerts - display alerts at start-up and/or when new messages arrive
Call Alerts - Incoming/Outgoing
Choose the duration alerts display
Conference Alerts - define what conference actions trigger alerts
Queue Alerts - define what queue actions trigger alerts
Call Control
Call Transfer - configure how drag-and-drop functions for transfer
Intercom - choose to set Intercom as the default mode for double-clicking contacts
Warning - choose which warning messages should display
Busy Ring-Back - choose whether or not you wish to use Busy Ring-Back
Chat
Incoming Chats - define how HUDÂ alerts you of incoming chats or new messages within a chat window when HUDÂ is out-of-focus (not the active application)
Fonts - configure your font and the font of the other chatting party
Auto-Away - define the delay between inactivity and HUDÂ changing your status to 'Away'
URL Processing - HUD intelligently processes certain text sent within chat messages (like web links). You can configure which types of text should be detected and auto-formatted by HUD
Other - define how many lines of historical chat text should be displayed when you begin a chat with any individual; configure functions of highlighting text within a chat session
Connection
Startup - choose whether or not to launch HUDÂ when you startup your computer
My Identity - enter your Web Username and Web Password here. HUD reflects the information entered in your Personal Window displaying your Name and Extension as configured within the Extensions page. You can login as any user as long as you know the Web Username and Web Password.
Settings Server - normally you do not need to change any of the settings under this section. You should only modify the Server field adding an x if you will use HUD remotely. Please read How do I configure HUD for remote use?
Contact Search
General - choose whether or not HUD Contacts search will find users within hidden groups
Auto Clear - define the delay in seconds between search and HUD automatically clearing the search window. You can also instruct HUD not to clear the search window ever
Quick Menu - this is the menu that appears immediately below the search window providing quick-access to functions like 'call' and 'chat'. Set the delay between your search and when this window appears
My Profile
My vCard - the General and Picture settings are controlled by the Company Directory via your User Panel
Progress Window
Choose whether or not the Progress Window should appear when HUD finds an available update and begins to download it
Shortcuts
HUD includes a variety of keyboard shortcuts. Each shortcut is customizable per HUD Client. If you are comfortable with a certain set of keyboard shortcuts, you can override the defaults within this menu
All of the available shortcuts are listed here.  In the case of Answer call, the shortcut would be pressing and holding ctrl shift a in order to answer an incoming call. Â
You do NOTÂ have to have HUDÂ in focus in order to execute these commands.

Sound Settings
Turn chat sounds on/off
Support
Choose which version of HUDÂ Client you would like to use (alpha, beta, production - these options will not be available for every customer)
Choose the level of logging. Fonality Support may ask you to increase the logging level in order to troubleshoot any issues that arise with HUD Client
Visual Settings
General - make HUD display on top of all other applications. Enable/Disable transparency functions (transparency is more graphics-intensive)
Regional and Language Options - configure the default language for HUD. You can also access this function quickly through Options --> Language
Snap Window - define the sensitivity of the 'snap' function (where individual HUDÂ windows attach to each other)
Contact Block Title - choose the level of detail to display within the Contacts window. Multi-site installations may benefit from displaying the Server number in addition to the extension number. This may be particularly useful for Server Administrators

Web Launcher
Configure HUD's Web Launcher function. You can choose from a variety of pre-configured Web Launcher profiles (configurable by the Server Administrator), or you can define your own Web Launcher URLs
