  3. The software upgrade process will begin by backing up existing files, checking for preconditions, and updating files.  This process may take between 10 and 30 minutes.**note - you will need to perform the update on your LBS as well for it to continue to backup your main server.

  4. Once the process is complete, you will have a couple of new options on the main CP page.  There will be a Snap recordings link at the bottom left and under Users/Extensions, you will now see E911.

**NOTE** Only customers with FonalityVOIP will see the E911 selection.

E911 - For customers with FonalityVOIP only

  1. On initial login, the addresses for each DID will need to be verified.  This will not affect your ability to make or receive calls, but will impact the ability of emergency services to reach you.  You must update/verify these addresses immediately.

  2. The "+" sign in the first column indicates that multiple extensions are using the same entry for E911.  **NOTE** Initially all extensions will show up under the first listing.  Press the "+" sign to show a list of those extensions.

  3. You will need to choose the E911 number that will be sent out for each location and then assign the extensions associated to that location. Click the pencil icon in the right column to edit the address for each number you wish to use to verify the address.

  4. To assign an extension to a particular E911 number, open that extension under User/Extensions -> View users.  You will modify the E911 Callback number under "Routing and Appearance Settings."

  5. Click Apply All Changes.

  6. You should now be able to see that extension under the appropriate E911 callback number under Users/Extensions -> E911

  7. You must also remove the virtual number prepend from each of your dial plans.  Navigate to Options -> Dial Plan, and for each Dial String that has a series of numbers in the prepend column, you need to click on the Dial String and remove the VN prepend, then click "Update Dial Plan"
