How to Upgrade P-Phones Firmware

Overview

Sangoma's desk phones are manufactured in one location and travel through several mid-way destinations on their way to customers. As such, there may be an substantial amount of time that passes between manufactured date and when the device actually ends up on the desk of an end user. During that time, Sangoma has usually made substantial changes to the firmware for those desk phones.

With Sangoma's newly launched P-Series of telephones, notably models P320, P325, P330, this is the case. The manufactured firmware of these telephones is older and less feature-rich than the presently available, or latest firmware. The launch firmware for these new telephones is version 4_2_3.

Switchvox, FreePBX, PBXact Platforms

Customers connecting these telephones directly to a properly updated Switchvox and/or PBXact or FreePBX system will experience their telephones being automatically updated to the latest firmware by the phone system platform itself.
