How to manually upgrade the firmware on D-phone?

Before updating or downgrading the firmware Reset the phone to factory defaults.
If the phone is in an unconfigured state just before it says press start to configure you can press the x key and this will take you to a menu, option 9 is Reset to factory defaults
From the main phone screen press the more softkey until a menu softkey is visible. Press the menu softkey. Then choose option 5 advanced then option 2 reset to factory defaults
After the phone has been reset to factory defaults:
press the settings key, this will be the third softkey to the right then choose fetch configuration file from url this will be option 3
leave the protocol field at the default setting http
move the cursor to the Server field by pressing the down arrow key
the server field will display multiple boxes, change this to accept a hostname by pressing the second home key from the left [IP]/Host now enter the hostname http://dphone.dl.digium.com in this field
move to the port field this should be set to 80
the path can be left at / (the root directory) if left here it will default to 000000000000.cfg this will download the latest firmware for the phone.
To select a different firmware revision the path needs to be modified to reflect this.
For example:
/firmware/switchvox/2_2_1_1/
Would update the phone with the 2_2_1_1_DXX_firmware.eff file for a switchvox system
/firmware/asterisk/2_2_1_1/
Would update the phone with the 2_2_1_1_DXX_firmware.eff file for an asterisk system
