Updating Your P-Series IP phone's Firmware

Overview

Sangoma’s desk phones are manufactured in one location and travel through several mid-way destinations on their way to customers. As such, there may be a substantial amount of time that passes between manufacturer, and when the device ends up on the desk of an end user. During that time, Sangoma has usually made substantial changes to the firmware for those desk phones.

With Sangoma’s just launched P-Series of telephones, notably models P230, P325, and P330, this is the case. The manufactured firmware of these telephones is substantially older and less feature-rich than the presently available firmware. The launch firmware for these telephones is version 4_2_3.

Switchvox, PBXact, and FreePBX

Customers connecting these telephones directly to a properly updated Switchvox and/or PBXact or FreePBX system will experience their telephones being automatically updated to the latest firmware by the phone system platform itself.
