What is the Switchvox Password Policy?

Admin Passwords

• Admin passwords must be between 3-15 characters in length.

• Strong passwords are typically fairly long and combine letters, numbers, and special characters.

To change the Admin password, navigate to Setup > Admins > Manage > Modify admin

Phone Passwords

• This is the SIP registration password that your phone uses for registration with the Switchvox.

• This password does not change when the extension's voicemail password changes.

To change the phone password, navigate to Setup > Extensions > Manage > Modify Extension > Phone Settings > Common Settings

Extension Voicemail and Web Tool Access Passwords

• A Numeric password is required for this because it will be entered from the numeric keypad on a telephone.

• The extension owner uses this to log into their account in the User Tool Suite.

• The strength of the new password is indicated as you type.

To change the phone password, navigate to Setup > Extensions > Manage > Modify Extension > Profile Information
