How to cascade calls via extension Call Rules

Do you need to forward calls, to other extensions or external phone numbers?

 
This article shows how to Cascade calls via your extension's Call Rules.
 

  1. - From Switchvox admin, select Setup > Manage > Extension > Login as this User.

  2. - From Web Tools Suite, select Features > Call Rules > Unanswered Call Rule Sets tab > Create Call Rule Set.

  3. - Provide a Rule Set Name, then choose Time Frame and Status options.

  4. - Select Create Action > Call Cascade, then configure cascade options.

    • - Specify whether the rule applies to direct calls, queue calls, or all calls.

    • - Enter a Switchvox extension or an external number. (For external number, add a ‘9’ or other necessary digits you normally use to dial out.)

    • - Specify the number of times to ring your phone before initiating this action.

  5. - Return to Features > Call Rules. Your new Call Rule appears last. Move your rule to the top of the list.

    • ​- Call logic looks at the top rule first. If it applies, then the remaining rules are ignored. Your new rule must be positioned appropriately.
